Significance Of African American Women In History

The topic in history is a topic having great stories about prominent persons who impacted many people's lives in United States of America. The African American women in history vary from congress women, doctors, preachers and so many other professions. Their major contributions have been discussed below under each person's name.

First and foremost we look at the life and old days of Mae.C.Jemison. She became the first African American woman in history to go or land in space.This was contributed by her excellent qualifications and work spirit.she was a trained medical doctor and also a surgeon . Mae. C. Jemison was also a engineer adding to her great professional values.She hit record when space shuttle endeavor made it to space since she was part of great team on board. Many will remember and look up to her for this great achievement .

Goode Sarah S great as her name sounds was a famous business woman and innovator.her innovations were unique and helpful to many especially to the middle class.for instance she invented a bed that was really ideal and suitable for small apartments.in her innovations skills she also made a great milestone innovating a folding cabinet bed.this cabinet was used as a desk and also made stationery and writing innovations. Goode owned a furniture store well established in the big city of Chicago.

In February 1936 Barbara was born and lived up to to the year 1996.in her lifetime Barbara was the first black US congress woman from the deep south which was a great achievement she made.her interest in leadership as well as her commitment led to her being a representative in the US house of representatives for Texas.Barbara was well known for promoting civil rights for the poor who were mainly affected.

In this article we also cover another woman by the name Truth sojourner, existed in early years 1797-1883 was a religious person who fought for moral uprightness when she served as a preacher of the gospel.Her good heart saw her lead the war against slavery having being born as a slave in New York. Sojourner also enabled the need for the government and other persons to promote civil rights and human rights appreciation.she worked as a counselor for national freedom relief association.During the US civil war her leadership in society helped black union soldiers acquire supplies.

Shirley Anita was born in Brooklyn in 1924 . Her life impacted many young persons since she worked as a teacher.Later she acquired a seat as an assembly woman and also in the congress for seven terms. Shirley Anita was considered a hardworking and jovial lady by her counter parts.

Another great woman witnessed was Rosa parks (February 4 . 1913 -Oct 24 2005 .)she was a brave woman evident in her life time when she was once asked to leave her seat for a white man which she did not agree.This led to her being fined due to her brave act.Rosa parka great qualities also included fighting for civil rights for all.

From the above mentioned women in history we view great leaders, hardworking women and good hearted person who chose to impact the universe with excellent service.this means that all persons white or black have similar potential that can only be realized and triggered by themselves.it it however a responsibility for all leaders to enable human rights as evident above.
